LUCENA CITY, Quezon — For the residents of Lucena City, the demand for accessible and affordable housing finance is rapidly increasing. Many workers, including employees and the self-employed, rely on government programs for securing their savings and achieving home ownership.

The PAG-IBIG Fund (Home Development Mutual Fund) successfully staged a two-day Housing Caravan in the city to directly address these needs and support the local populace. This direct engagement aims to help citizens realize their aspirations of acquiring decent, safe, and affordable shelter.

The Fund utilized the caravan to deliver a wide array of comprehensive services that translate directly into a better quality of life and greater financial security for Lucena's residents. A major feature of the event was the offering of substantial discounts reaching up to 40% on selected PAG-IBIG acquired assets.

These acquired assets, which are foreclosed properties, are offered back to members at accessible prices to accelerate homeownership. This generous discount provides a concrete and tangible pathway for many working-class Filipino families to achieve the long-held dream of owning their own home.

In addition a full range of services was offered, including on-the-spot membership registration and applications for the Loyalty Card Plus. A key focus was placed on enrollment in the Modified Pag-IBIG 2 (MP2) Savings Program, which offers a popular voluntary savings scheme known for its high dividend rate and five-year maturity.

Other services included direct applications for the Multi-Purpose Loan to address members' immediate financial needs. These funds, being short-term and flexible, can be used for emergencies, medical expenses, home improvement, or payment for tuition fees and minor livelihood capital.

The initiative was spearheaded by the PAG-IBIG Fund South Luzon team, underscoring the agency's mandate to decentralize its reach beyond Metro Manila. The Fund’s efforts in Lucena are part of its larger strategy to fulfill its twin mandate of provident savings and affordable housing finance nationwide.

The PAG-IBIG Fund consistently advances its core advocacy of “Pabahay para sa bawat Pilipino” by expanding its service presence and boosting program awareness. Such initiatives ensure that all Filipino workers, wherever they may be, can access the means to a secured future.
