ALABAT, Quezon - Remembering past leaders has long been part of preserving a community’s identity and history. That tradition was highlighted in Brgy. Gordon, Alabat, during the formal opening of the Alabat Walk of Fame honoring the town’s former mayors.

Part of the ceremony recognized former mayors for their contributions to the town’s history and development. Mayor Eizelle “Ays” M. Avellano-Canimo led the program attended by local government workers and residents.

In her message, Mayor Avellano-Canimo said the initiative reflects the town’s appreciation for leaders who helped shape Alabat through the years. She added that former mayors played important roles in improving public services and guiding local projects.

The recognition program was also part of the municipality’s effort to preserve the history of its past leaders. Local officials said the Walk of Fame was created not only to honor former mayors, but also to inspire younger generations through their example of public service.

Mayor Avellano-Canimo said the Walk of Fame will serve as a lasting reminder of the dedication shown by past local leaders. She added that the initiative will help preserve the town’s history while encouraging younger generations to value public service.

Local officials said the Alabat Walk of Fame is expected to remain one of the town’s landmarks in the coming years. They also expressed hope that the site will strengthen appreciation for Alabat’s history and legacy of public service.

For many residents, the newly opened Walk of Fame now stands as more than a marker honoring the town’s former leaders. It also serves as a reminder that leadership and public service continue to shape the future of Alabat.
