LUCENA CITY, Quezon — Pag-IBIG Fund is expanding digital access to savings, loans and housing services in Quezon as its Lucena Branch encourages members to complete more transactions without visiting the office. The branch also reported a membership level of 117,730 in the province as of August 2026, with more qualified workers and individuals still being targeted for coverage.
The updates were discussed during the September 23 episode of Kapihan sa PIA Quezon at Pacific Mall Lucena, hosted by Cecil Maloles of the Philippine Information Agency-Quezon. Guests were Derrick N. De La Peña, Member Services Officer II, and Marifen M. Mercado, Supervising Marketing Specialist and Marketing Head of Pag-IBIG Fund Lucena Branch.
Mercado said the Lucena Branch is working with local governments, employers and business permit offices to reach workers who remain outside Pag-IBIG coverage. Service caravans are also being conducted to bring registration, membership assistance and other services closer to communities farther from the branch.
“Dito po sa province of Quezon, as of August, ang membership level po natin dito is 117,730. So, ganoon na po karami yung member dito pero nakikita po natin napakarami pa po ng mga potential na member,” Mercado said.
Virtual Pag-IBIG allows members to check records, register, enroll in the MP2 Savings Program and perform several transactions from their homes or workplaces. Officials said the continuing shift toward automation is intended to reduce travel, waiting time and long queues while making routine services easier to access.
Qualified members may also borrow up to 90 percent of their total savings under Pag-IBIG’s short-term loan program, compared with the previous 80-percent loanable amount. Housing financing may cover residential-unit purchases, house construction, home improvement or renovation and refinancing of eligible loans from other financial institutions.
The forum also highlighted MP2, a voluntary five-year savings program with a minimum contribution of ₱500 that allows flexible deposits and multiple funded accounts. Members may choose annual dividend payouts or compounded earnings until maturity, while the amount they eventually earn depends on dividends declared by Pag-IBIG Fund.
“Mas malaki pong kinikita ng Pag-IBIG, mas malaki pong yung naiibalik natin sa ating mga miyembro. Ang minimum po natin na inihulog dito ay ₱500, so sa halagang ₱500, basta ikaw ay active Pag-IBIG member, pwede ka na pong mag-member din dito sa ating MP2,” Mercado said.
Pag-IBIG Lucena is also studying possible regular servicing at Pacific Mall while continuing service caravans in municipalities where distance makes branch transactions more difficult. Officials said any regular Pacific Mall arrangement would still be announced once finalized, as the branch continues widening both digital and face-to-face access across Quezon.
