The gaming industry in the Philippines has marked a remarkable growth in the past few years. It has become one of the favorite pass times for families and the youth. The gaming industry is growing more competitive day by day and as a result, many gaming companies have been developed in the country.

Online gaming is an excellent way to keep your children and yourself entertained while you are away from home. Wireless gaming is usually available at most hotels and or in wireless hotspots.

With the sudden development of the gaming industry in the online world, more people are becoming hooked with the online gaming phenomenon. More PC and game developers are considering to make more new developments and updates when it comes to gaming by using computers.

Games that are found over the internet are continuously growing numbers. Before, people are contented to minesweeper or solitaire that can be played on the old versions of desktop computers but now, all sorts of games can be played by all walks of people who want to experience adventure and entertainment through technology.

A lot of people use their personal computers to play with the games they install. Before, people had to buy their own gaming console but now, there is no need to do that. Also, there is no need to install the necessary applications and needed updates in order to be able to play. By clicking onto sites that offer various online games, you can play nonstop without hassle. You only need a stable internet connection, and then you are ready to go and play.

Sen. Bam Aquino says he sees the potential of the gaming industry in bringing honor to the country and creating jobs and livelihood for Filipinos.

“There is so much potential in our gaming industry,” said Sen. Bam upon hearing that a Filipino team - TNC - qualified again for the prestigious International DOTA 2 Championship, which will be held from August 7 to 12 at KeyArena in Seattle. Last year, TNC placed eighth among 18 countries that joined the event.

Sen. Bam supports Filipino esports athletes and game development in the Philippines. He became a part and helped to establish Philippine esports Association (PeSPA) to strengthen the foundation of esports in the country, look after the welfare of cyber athletes and stakeholders and promote esports in the country.

“We have very talented gamers that are winning big in the world stage. But we also have game developers and local studios that are hired to help create some of the most popular games,” said Sen. Bam.

Sen. Bam mentioned that several Filipino game developers and studios has marked and decided to get in the actionand develop their own games in the international arena. Other global companies tap Filipino studios and artists in producing popular games, such as Electronic Arts and FunGuy Studio. Synergy 88 and Microsoft for Gears of War 4 and Sony’s Naughty Dog and Secret 6 on Uncharted 4

Sen. Bam added that the game Flippy Bottle Extreme by Derrick Alain Mapagu also became a global hit, beating out games like Temple Run 2 and even Pokemon Go in the United States.

“This is big business. Gaming can actually bring in money, jobs and livelihood into the Philippines,” said Sen. Bam.

Furthermore, Sen. Bam said the inclusion of esports in the Asian Games in 2022 will give Filipino athletes another venue to highlight their skills and excel and bring honor to the country.

In today’s world where the development in the field of technology is taking place at a very high rate, a number of different types of computer games are being generated. There are threats of cyber crime in web gaming, players need to be careful about the cyber threats to cellphones and computers.
