Sariaya, Quezon -- Despite the town’s lack of 20% development fund from the IRA, the mayor is trying to reach the needs of its people in order to finance it. The local government of Sariaya recently arrived at the Department of Agriculture worth 7 million pesos, such as rice transplanters and other mechanized equipment that farmers could use to advance modern agriculture in the country.

According to Mr. Jose Marquez, 64 years old and a farmer from Brgy. Montecillo is a great and powerful tool for modern machinery to help their peasants to raise their lives and Mr. Edwin Baladad of Brgy. Tumbaga 1 and president of the Farmers Association Federation in Sariaya, Quezon are full support for Mayor Gayeta and thank him also for the Department of Agriculture Region IV-A to respond to their need to accelerate their work through Mechanize Farming. Her peasants are happy because their dream is to fulfill their dream of promoting modern agriculture in their country, where Mr. Baladad said that the Town of Sariaya is the largest rice field in the province.

“I do not stop trying to improve the town of Sariaya” said Mayor Marcelo “Marceng” Gayeta in a recent interview. He said “we have removed the color of loyal politics and our only color, it is the color of my honest and clean government service.

Mayor Gayeta said that this is a way to bring the government to the farmers and the Municipal Agriculture Office of the Sariaya LGU will try to increase the farm equipment and require it to Mr. Baladad’s group to simply request the request because allegedly to Sec. Piñol of the Department of Agriculture will continue to assist farmers and fishermen and BFAR Regional Director De Mesa will order the region IV-A to meet their needs.

And in the end, Mayor Gayeta said that “the kind of birth and growth I grew up with was planted in rice with my siblings so my peasants were close to my heart so I was forced to support them by new farm machinery and other Farm Inputs to increase their production and income so they can also educate their children and increase their level of living and escape poverty, “Gayeta added.
