SDO Lucena City strengthened and gathered industry partners and stakeholders from the city including Business Sector and Local Government of Lucena City for this year’s Education Summit at Lucena City Teachers and Employees Conference Center (LCTECC), recently.

With the theme, ‘Beyond Boundaries,’ the one-day summit focused on tracking progress in achieving their agendas and 2017 Education Summit commitments, to deepen sense of awareness and ownership of the programs and projects of the Division that will benefit the learners of the City of Lucena; build on the commitments during the 2017 Education Summit, as well as consider new policies and directions; and gather various stakeholders to get their feedback, inputs, and pledge to help in ensuring progress towards the 2018 Education Summit statement.

ASDS Joepi Falqueza stated that, “There is partnership in every school.” He explained the vital roles of stakeholders who wholeheartedly respond to the calls of Adopt-A-School chairpersons in each of their school’s needs.

Meanwhile, Dr. Aniano M. Ogayon, SDS, reported the Division annual accomplishments and the educational needs of Batang Lucenahin learners.

The 2018 Education Summit gathered around 150 stakeholders from business industries, private citizens and organizations, and government agencies stated their pledge of support to SDO Lucena schools.

Lead organizations for the Summit activities include SM Savemore, Aboitiz Power Corporation, Therma Luzon Incorporated, Adarna House and Kiwanis Club International. Awardees present were The Original Ugat of Lucena Association, Inc (TOULAI) in partnership with Buddy and Nova Veluz of Buddy’s Pizza Restaurant, Lt. Gov. Christine Francisco from Kiwanis Club, Rotary Club, ALEC Learning Center, Greentelcom, International School for Better Beginnings (ISBB), and Raquel Pawnshop.

City Mayor Roderick “Dondon” A. Alcala, represented by Mr. Arnel Avila, Executive Assistant to the city Mayor, graced the event and was also one of the stakeholders Division Awardee. (Jasmin J. Flores, Open High School Coordinator, Cotta National High School)
