TESDA-Quezon holds the 2019 Provincial Skills Competition

LUCENA CITY, Quezon —March 12 (PIA)- The provincial office of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is holding the 2019 Provincial Skills Competition at the Quezon National Agricultural School (QNAS), Pagbilao, Quezon.

TESDA Quezon provincial Director Ava Heide V. Dela Torre who declared the opening of the competition said there were 22 competitors in 13 trade areas from seven institutions in Quezon province who joined the competition which started last March 11 and will end on March 14 2019. The winners will be receiving a medals and certificate of commendation.
The competitors will compete in the following trade areas:

12        Restaurant Services                                                              
13        Information Network Cabling                                                  Colegio de Santo Cristo de Burgos Corporation, Sariaya, Quezon

“You have to give or show your best in this competition to become qualifiers in the regional, national and especially in the world skills competition”, Director Dela Torre said before the 22 competitors during the opening program of the skills competition.

Meanwhile, TESDA Board Member Rogelio Ton ton Chavez in his message underscores the importance of the Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

“Huwag ninyong bigyan ng mababang pagtingin ang techvoc training sapagkat dito, kung ano man ang mga pangarap o naisin ninyo sa buhay ay kaya ninyong marating”. Chavez added.

Aside from the Quezon National Agricultural School (QNAS), other skills competition shall be held at College of Sciences Technology and Communications (CSTC) in Sariya and Colegio De Santo Cristo De Burgos (CSCB) also in Sariaya.

The winners in the 2019 Provincial Skills Competition will represent the province of Quezon in the Regional Skills Competition slated on April 1-5, 2019 at Lyceum of the Philippines , Batangas branch and Cavite, RTC-Batangas; Jacobo J. Gonsales of Arts and Trade; Toyota Sta. Rosa and CSTC – Sariaya.
