LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Quezon launched last week at Antigua Restaurant here the 5th batch of beneficiaries under the Kapatid Mentor Me Program in the province.

According to DTI Quezon provincial director Julieta Tadiosa, the Kapatid Mentor Me Program sets out to produce confident entrepreneurs with the right mindset and business know how which will be able to sustain and scale up their enterprises.

The program is anchored on two major objectives, namely: to help micro and small enterprises develop a good business sense by capacitating them through the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and to assist the MSEs in scaling up and sustaining their operations by equipping them with the needed skill sets in the course of theoretical and conceptual discussions and lectures as well as mentoring and coaching sessions.





Businesswoman/Mentor Sherill R. Quintana, Chief Executive Officer of Oryspa, one of the resource persons discussed the entrepreneurial mind setting and values formation to the attendees composed of mentees/ entrepreneurs, students, employees from government agencies and other DTI stakeholders.

Quintana urged mentees to be open to opportunities and innovate to become successful entrepreneurs.

“Open yourself to opportunities, knowledge is a huge power,” Quintana said.

Quintana is a successful businesswoman who received the Asia Pacific Women Entepreneurship award in 2018. She also shared her knowledge and expertise in operating a business to the mentees.

Meanwhile, Victor N. Madlangbayan of the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship – Go Negosyo discussed the Module 2- Marketing to the mentees where he also shared his knowledge in marketing a product.

Madlangbayan futher explained and underscored the triangle of entrepreneurship and the target market that are very important in marketing a product.

Also present during the program launching were DTI-4A Assistant Regional Director Marcelina Alcantara; Michael Caballes, owner of Bukid Amara (Kapatid Agri-Mentor); Aimee Diane Tidalgo of Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship- Go Negosyo and Dexter C. Restan of Ink ni Juan (KMME Batch 3 graduate) who also gave their inspirational messages to the mentees. (Ruel Orinday- PIA-Quezon)
