CAMP GEN. VICENTE LIM, Calamba City -- A female police captain led the roster of honorees during Monday’s kick-off awards and recognition rites, an event which also ushered in the 24th Police Community Relations Month.

Police Capt. Ma. Verginia Raymundo Formanes was conferred the Medal of Recognition “for demonstrating exemplary, efficiency, loyalty and dedication to duty for espousing discussions and as resource speaker of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division on the illegal drugs menace."

Formanes was cited for her extensive discussions on the challenges facing the youth on the ill effects of illegal drugs during the Carmona Youth Summit in Barangay Cabilang Baybay in Carmona, Cavite on Mar. 7, 2019, her superiors said.

Medals of Competence were also conferred on Police Col. Rommil Mercado Mitra, Chief Master Sgt. Caryn Cabali Manalad; Chief Master Sgt. Gil Francis Barrios Tadeo and Senior Master Sgt. Sandra Cruz Cordova, for training the 2nd batch of 45-Day Police Community Affairs and Development Course.

Biñan City Lone District Rep. Marlyn B. Alonte, assisted by Police Regional Office (PRO4A) Regional Director, Brig. Gen. Edward E. Carranza, presented the awards at the multipurpose hall during the event themed "Sambayanan, Mahalagang Kaakibat ng Kapulisan sa Pagtaguyod ng Mapayapa at Maunlad na Bayan."

“Nagbibigay-pugay at sumasaludo ako sa inyong buong hanay ng pulisya sa katapatan na inyong pinapamalas sa araw-araw (I honor and salute the entire police rank for your dedication to duty that you demonstrate daily). Rest assured that I will give my 200% support to the PNP at asahan ninyo na kaisa ninyo ako sa inyong mga programa (and please count my full support to your programs),” Alonte said.

The Cavite Provincial Police Office (PPO) received the Plaque of Recognition for obtaining the highest Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER) in Community Affairs and Development for the First Semester CY 2019 among five Police Provincial Offices in the Calabarzon.

Best Police Provincial Office Plaque of Recognition was presented to the Laguna PPO for their implementation of the PRO-4A “Best Practice “Drug Free Home” which covered June 1, 2018 to May 30, 2019.

The Batangas PPO also received the “Best Police Provincial Office Plaque of Recognition” for their implementation of the PNP Recovery and Wellness Program (Simula ng Pag-asa [SIPAG] Program) which covered June 1, 2018 to May 30, 2019.

Police officials and personnel also participated in the blood-letting activity following the awards and recognition rites. (PNA)
