QPPO nets 177 suspects in 3-day SACLEO

LUCENA CITY - The implementation of 3-day Simultaneous Anti- Criminality and Law Enforcement (SACLEO) of the Quezon Police Provincial Office (QPPO) in the entire province gained positive results with the neutralization of a drug suspect and arrest of 177 persons, police officials said yesterday.

In a press briefing yesterday, Quezon police director, Col. Audie Madrideo reported that from August 19 to 21, his operating units simultaneously carried out the operation province wide.

In the campaign against illegal drugs, Madrideo said suspected drug pusher Robert Jhon Fulgar, suspect, 25, of Purok Sampaguita, Brgy. Ilayang Iyam, here, was killed in a shootout during a drug buy- bust.

Madrideo said 32 drug suspects were arrested while 21.03 grams of crystal shabu and 163.80 grams of dried marijuana leaves. In the campaign against wanted criminals, the provincial director said they arrested 64 wanted persons, 2 of them belong to Calabarzon region’s most wanted felons.

Madrideo said in the drive against loose and unrenewed firearms, they arrested 3 persons and confiscated 5 firearms while 60 assorted firearms were surrenderred by their owners pending the fenewal of their registration and License To Own and Possess Firearm (LTOPF).

Madrideo said they implemented the 3-day SACLEO while everybody was busy at the height of week- long festivity hosted by the provincial government of Quezon.

“Those criminals did not expect the police operation that we have conducted for they knew that our attention were focused on the maintainance of peace and security in the festivity”, said Madrideo.
