2010-2020eans we completed 9 years. In case you didn't know. We complete a decade at the end of 2020, we start a new now. WWII, USA, IRAN, AUSTRALIA, and PHILIPPINES are trending on TWITTER worldwide and JESUS has trended at the same time as well because everyone saying ‘Jesus Christ’ and Netflix got the audacity to debut it's doomsday flick 'Messiah'. Couldn't choose a better timing there.

The fact that World War 3 and Jesus are trending at the start of 2020 is poetic. As an ordinary citizen, I can’t do anything. But as a columnist and a publisher or owner of this newspaper helping others find their voice, I can only hope my writing has helped others make sense of the world themselves. This is barely the fourth day of January and all I can say is what the *uck. The way they are gonna start a war while the world is in a state like this is honestly bullshit. Don’t you ever realize? How Jakarta is sinking. How Australia is on fire. Don’t you ever?

When I started watching this world I was thinking that 99% of what is happening around the globe is a coincidence. After 3 years I began to think that coincidence is only 50% of what is happening. Now I see that coincidence is not more than 10% and I begin to worry about what I see next.

How 2020 starts. In case everyone has no idea:

1. Iranian general killed. Qassem Soleimani, the leader of Iran's elite Quds Force, was killed late Thursday in a U.S. airstrike that targeted a convoy near the airport in Baghdad, the U.S. Department of Defense confirmed in a statement to ABC News. The statement said "General Soleimani was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region," adding Soleimani and the Quds Force "orchestrated attacks on coalition bases in Iraq over the last several months -- including the attack on December 27th -- culminating in the death and wounding of additional American and Iraqi personnel."

This is not a good start to 2020. I hope the Iranians can show restraint. The world doesn't need another war. Philippines had enough during WWII so please exclude us on this narrative. They said U.S. President Donald John Trump is clearly pushing for a war with Iran to secure four more years in the Presidential Office. President Trump says the killing of Gen. Qassem Soleimani in a drone strike was not undertaken to begin a conflict with Iran. The Government’s response to Donald Trump’s actions is not good enough. The UK Government should hold him to account for his actions and stand up for international law, not tacitly condone the attack.

2.Australia burning. Wildfires continue to ravage Australia, burning more than 12 million acres and killing at least 17 people and nearly half a billion animals feared dead in ravaging wildfires in Australia.

It's so horrific and those affected by it are in my prayers. I know it must be terrifying for adult humans, so I can only imagine what it's like for children and animals. They're probably very scared and confused. Australia is on fire. Nearly half a billion animals have been killed with more than 14.5 million acres burned. That's just the one in the middle. Many more all around it. The total area that's burned is larger than Vermont and New Hampshire combined 12 million acres. Over half a Billion helpless animals have died, thousands of species gone extinct. This is climate change. Awake humans its time to think seriously about preserving Mother Earth.

3. Jakarta is sinking. Because of climate change and a victim of its own policies. The city is sinking—a process known as land subsidence—because residents and industries have been draining aquifers, often illegally, to the point that the land is now collapsing. But instead of dealing with the situation correctly, Indonesia is looking to name the Island Borneo as its new capital.

Amazon now Australia then Jakarta is sinking badly. With one of the world’s longest coastlines Indonesia, the world’s fourth most populous country is extremely vulnerable to climate change. Jakarta is home to 30 million people and parts of the city near the coast are sinking just as sea levels are rising.

Australia is burning, Jakarta is sinking, climate change is worsening. Spread the donation links, contribute to aid efforts and start practicing sustainability. Help the current tragedies and prevent more from happening in the future. Let's discipline ourselves and save Mother Earth in many different ways. Starting from little things like don't litter, 3Rs, use public transport, save water, plant a tree.

4. The digital tax has started in Malaysia. Starting 1 January 2020, a 6% service tax will be implemented for digital service providers in the country. Malaysians will have to pay up to RM4/month extra for Netflix starting next year. The price revision includes the 6% digital tax.

“Even if you’re not located in Malaysia, this change in tax laws will still apply for purchases made by Malaysia customers, ” it said in a notice directed at Google Play developers.

5. The Philippines, national gov't debt at P7.7-T in the first 11 months. THE national government’s outstanding debt declined 2.5% month-on-month to P7.709 trillion in the 11 months to November due to net redemption of government securities, the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) reported Thursday.

Another thing is the Philippines has a big debt to US banks and the reason why the Philippines is not yet being pressured in the collection of the country's debt is that it is an ally of the U.S. if the U.S. cuts that, then Philippine economy gets bankrupt. The U.S. owns Phil because of its debt. We are almost done with paying that debt, until Duterte came, and here again the record external debt. I hope that by 2022 the Philippines will not be broke?

Since Jesus is trending right now, it’s a good time to remember that there is no other name by which we can be saved. When you lie on your deathbed and call out for Jesus. Jesus said “On that day many will call out to me saying Lord and I will say to them get away from me you workers of iniquity for I never knew you“. would recommend you reevaluate your faith and truly come to Christ as Savior. Repent of your evil!
