Ground-breaking ceremony of vco processing facility in Pagbilao City formally inaugurated

PAGBILAO, Quezon - The groundbreaking ceremony of the Virgin Coconut Oil Processing Facility (VCO) was formally inaugurated in Pagbilao City on June 23, 2020.

The attendees were from the offices of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI - Quezon), the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), the Quezon Federation, and the Union of Cooperatives (QFUC) and the Department of Agriculture. Also joined were Vice Governor Sam Nantes, Board Members Jerry Talaga, Alona Bishop, Balilao Mayor Shierre Ann Palicpic, Flood Chairman Nicanor Porta, Provincial Agriculturist G. Roberto Gajo and Engr. Arnel V. De Mesa is the Regional Executive Director of the DA.

While Governor Danilo E. Suarez was one of those who extended his support to this project of the Provincial Agriculture Office is one of his flagship programs for this province.

According to PA Gajo, the project is still planned for 2014 and the construction of a processing facility will begin this year, which will open up opportunities for workers in the province.

As Governor Suarez said, the potential of Quezon products is great for further recognition in our country as well as for contacting SM to provide a product placement position in Quezon Province.

"Nakipag-ugnayan na rin ako sa SM upang mapagbigyan na magkaroon ng pwesto na mapaglalagyan ng mga produktong mula sa probinsiya ng Quezon", governor said.

Pagbilao Mayor Palicpic said Pagbilao City is honored to have built a VCO facility in their city now known as virgin coconut oil as a cure for COVID 19 disease. She also said that the local government is ready to provide support to whatever may be needed to carry out this project in their town.

In the meantime, Governor Danilo E. Suarez has reminded everyone to offer a prayer before going to bed so that this pandemic will be over despite a low number of cases in the province.

Today, our Governor continues to work throughout the Province to provide and deliver various programs for Quezonian.
