DA provides livelihood to farmers affected by the eruption of Taal Volcano

BATANGAS CITY - The Department of Agriculture (DA) has provided livestock interventions for farmers affected by the Taal Volcano eruption on July 3, 2020.

The distribution is from the DA Region IV CALABARZON Taal Recovery and Rehabilitation Program which includes the Balete, Bauan, High Wood, and Agoncillo local governments.

The beneficiary farmers in Balete city were given a total of 60 native goats (12 modules) and 50 buffalos (10 modules).

Meanwhile, 50 broiler chicken modules with 2,500 white, 1,700 pieces (34 modules), and 2,050 pieces (41 modules) were distributed to the beneficiaries of Bauan, Mataas na Kahoy, and Agoncillo.

The distribution of cattle intervention to local government people was led by Mrs. Vilma Dimaculangan, Assistant Regional Director for Research and Regulation at the Livestock Program Coordinator.

Farmers who have been helped have expressed gratitude.

(BHABY P. DE CASTRO-PIA Batangas with reports from DA-RAFIS)

According to Balete Mayor Wilson Maralit, this is a great help to his people, as they are waiting for their own consequences to be revived in connection with the eruption of the the Taal volcano.
