Residents in some parts of Rizal need urgent rescue, as flood waters reached the roof of their houses

RODRIGUEZ, Rizal - Many residents stranded on their roof, soaked in the rain with kids, elderly people, and pets around Rizal area are in need of urgent rescue as flood water reached the roof of their homes due to typhoon #Ulysses. They use social media Thursday morning (November 12, 2020) to ask for help.

Jell LA Morena, of Kasiglahan Village in Rodriguez town, post pictures and videos on Facebook showing houses already submerged in flood water.

She said minors, seniors and people with disabilities were among those stranded with her.

"Rescue po please marami pong baby at bata na andito, Kasiglahan San Jose Rodriguez Rizal" she said.



Another resident of Kasiglahan Village, Carmelita Libawat, said barangay officials did not alert residents of the possibility of rising flood water, and added that no one seemed to expect it.

Roland Villamin, also from the town of Rodriguez, said that some of his neighborhood had been submerged in water.



Villamin said he was trapped in their house with 17 other people, while neighbors waited to be rescued.

Rhenyxz Lim said flood water hit the second floor of the residential compound he was in Barangay Maly, San Mateo city.

Some of the neighbors, Lim said, went up to the roof of their homes.
