CALAMBA CITY, Laguna-The COVID-19 vaccine is now more affordable in Biñan City, thanks to the city government's recent launch of a 'vax-on-wheels' mobile vaccination clinic for residents who want to be vaccinated but live far from designated vaccination sites.
According to the Biñan City Information Office, the city government developed a program for senior citizens and people with disabilities who have difficulty getting to vaccination sites.
Because some residents will no longer have to travel to vaccination sites to get vaccinated, the mobile vaccination clinic will also reduce the risk of infection.
It is also part of the Biñan City government's broader campaign to speed up the city's vaccination program.
The first ‘vax-on-wheels' event occurred on July 23 in Barangay Loma, where Mayor Arman Dimaguila personally attended the vaccination of senior citizens.
According to data from Biñan City Health Office 1, the total number of twelve vaccines administered to city residents in priority groups has reached 67,610.
Furthermore, 17,603 residents have been fully vaccinated or have received a full dose of the vaccine, while 41,799 are awaiting the second dose.
