CALAMBA CITY, Laguna — The Police Regional Office (PRO) Calabarzon recognized best performing police officers and police units during the celebration of the 120th Police Service Anniversary.

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, General Guillermo Eleazar personally conferred the awards to some 8 police officers, two non-uniformed personnel and six police units in an awarding ceremony held as part of his command visit on November 2 at the Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City, Laguna.



On top of the recipients of the ‘Medalya ng Kasanayan’ and Achievement Award are Colonel Renator Cantos Mercado who was named as Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) for Administration and Colonel Joseph Reyes Arguelles as Best Senior PCO for Operations.

Police Major John Conrad Asehan Villanueva received this year’s Best Junior PCO for Administration, and Lieutenant Colonel Rodel Sibalo Ban-O received the Best Junior PCO for Operations.



The award for the Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) for Administration was given to Police Executive Master Sergeant Elison Gacosta Apalla while the Best PNCO for Operations was awarded to Police Chief Master Sergeant Mark Anthony Cartero Lopez.

Police Staff Sergeant Abraham Mirabete Maestro received the Best Junior PNCO for Administration while Corporal Francisco Alab Vergara I was awarded as Best Senior PNCO for Operations.



Two Non-Uniformed Personnel (NUP) including Carmelita Ramos Jaca and Wily Jane Tuazon Mansion were also given the achievement award for their meritorious accomplishments.

For the best performing-police units, the Police Provincial Office (PPO) Cavite was adjudged ast the Best PPO, Biñan City Police Station (CPS) as the CPS, Rosario Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Cavite as the Best MPS, and the Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) 2nd Company Quezon as the Best PMFC.

The Regional Communications and Electronics 4A also received an excellence award for Best Administrative Support and the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit for Best Operational Support Unit.

In his message, Eleazar commended the awardees for their commitment to public and police service. He also reminded them to continue upholding police integrity and serve as inspiration to other members of the police force.

“To those who were given the awards, you represent the men and women of PRO CALABARZON. Kayo ang totoong mukha ng PNP, hindi ang iilan na bugok sa ating hanay. Magsilbi kayong inspirasyon at motivation upang ipagpatuloy at lalo pang paigtingin ang paglilingkod sa ating bayan,” he said.

The PNP chief stressed that with the institutional reforms the police organization has gained from both and the local and national and national government, it is just right that the PNP always strives for excellence in the delivery of public service.

“Napakataas ng expectation ng ating mga kababayan sa ating organisasyon . Hindi mo sila masisi dahil dinoble ang ating sweldo, andyan ang madaming benepisyo, ang tulong na binibigay both national and local, kaya nararapat lamang na ibalik natin sa kanila ang tamang serbisyo,” Eleazar said.

Eleazar also led the inauguration rites of new facilities within the PRO Calabarzon such as the administration building lobby, the offices of the command group, new temporary treatment management facility, BMI building, and the state-of-the-art Regional Command Center. — (with reports from PRO Calabarzon)
