SILANG, Cavite - The local government of Silang in cooperation with the Silang Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator (MPDC), Municipal Health Office (MHO), Philippine National Police (PNP), Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) have conducted an orientation for the construction of Balay Silangan, a reformation facility for drug offenders this past week.

The big project is based on the approved Resolution No. 2 series of 2018 of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) which is the policy-making and strategy-formulating body in the field of drug prevention and control according to Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.



Balay Silangan will be an alternative method for lowering illegal drug use while also assisting drug offenders or dependents in their new lives.

According to a post on social media by the Office of the Mayor of Silang, "Ngayong 2023, target ng lokal na pamahalaan na maparami pa ang bilang ng mga drug-cleared barangay sa Silang, Cavite."
