TIAONG, Quezon - In the past, the town plaza of Tiaong was in need of renovation due to its outdated and inaccessible design. However, after undergoing a thorough renovation process, the town plaza now boasts PWD-friendly features that cater to the needs of all individuals, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for everyone.

The renovated town plaza now has fourteen (14) air-conditioned units, an improved stage, comfortable seats, a dressing room, neat and clean toilets, and above all, PWD-friendly ramps and pathways, which were among Tioang Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea's top priorities during the renovation process.

The addition of PWD-friendly ramps and pathways allows individuals with disabilities to easily navigate the town plaza, ensuring that they can fully participate in community events and activities. Mayor Mea's commitment to inclusivity and accessibility has transformed the town plaza into a welcoming space for all residents, regardless of their physical abilities.

Sen. Imee Marcos, with the mayor and the municipal council, inaugurated the newly renovated town plaza here on Wednesday, December 11, expressed her admiration for the efforts made by Mayor Mea and his team in the renovation and praised the positive impact it will have on the lives of the residents.

She highlighted the importance of creating spaces that are accessible to everyone, as it promotes a sense of belonging and fosters community engagement. Sen. Marcos also commended Mayor Mea for his dedication to improving the quality of life for all residents, emphasizing the significance of inclusive initiatives in building a stronger and more cohesive community.

The renovation lasted several months and involved extensive improvements to the infrastructure and aesthetics of the town plaza. It included the installation of new seating areas, improved lighting, and the addition of accessible ramps for individuals with disabilities.

Mea added that locals can use the plaza for free for events like weddings, parties, and sporting events, and he hopes that this will boost tourism in the area. In addition, Mea emphasized that the renovated town plaza will serve as a hub for community gatherings and cultural events, fostering a sense of unity among residents.

In support of the local government's nutrition program, Sen. Marcos also gave the town of Tiaong a van called Nutri-Jeep that will deliver nutritious foods like nutriban to kids to combat the issue of malnutrition. This initiative aims to improve the overall well-being of the community, particularly the younger generation, by ensuring they have access to nutritious meals.

The Nutri-Jeep will travel to different areas within Tiaong, making it convenient for children to receive these essential food items and addressing the issue of malnutrition in a practical and sustainable manner.
