Quezon athlete shines at Japan Wata Open International Taekwondo Championship 2024

OSAKA, Japan – Wildcats Taekwondo Club, led by LIGASTAN Taekwondo Head Coach Shiela Tarray, made a triumphant showing at the Japan Wata Open International Taekwondo Championship 2024. The team earned several medals at the event held on April 28, 2024, at Ohama Arena in Sakai, Osaka, Japan.

Leading the charge for Quezon, Julius Frank Tarray Tano of Pitogo Town took home the Gold Medal and the prestigious Best Player Award in the Male Under 87kg Black Belt Category, Kyurugi Event.



Lucena athletes also made their mark; Harvey Zsion Ros – Silver Medal, Colored Category, Pomsae, Bronze Medal at Kyurugi Event, Elize Rhaily Garcia – Bronze Medal at Pomsae Event, Jedidiah Prancis Tacardon – Silver Medal at Pomsae Event.

"We are incredibly proud of our athletes and their outstanding performance at this prestigious international tournament," said Coach Shiela Tarray. "Their dedication and passion for Taekwondo shine through in their achievements."

The Japan Wata Open International Taekwondo Championship is a significant tournament attracting top athletes worldwide. The Wildcats Taekwondo Club's success demonstrates the growing caliber of Taekwondo talent in the Quezon province.
