TAYABAS CITY, Quezon - Growing opportunities for local farmers, Tayabas City's City Agriculture Office recently launched the Farmer-Level Training on Vegetable Production, Postharvest Handling Technologies, and Marketing at Rallos Integrated Farm in Brgy. Ilayang Nangka. The 16-week program, set to run every Friday, aims to enhance the knowledge of local farmers in modern agriculture.

Thirty participants will undergo the comprehensive training, which focuses on strengthening vegetable production, introducing innovative postharvest techniques and agricultural technologies, and effective marketing strategies. Upon completion, farmers are expected to be better equipped to utilize machinery and technology, thereby increasing efficiency and productivity.

Agriculturist I Realyn C. Agudilla from the City Agriculture Office led the training, with representatives from the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in attendance to extend their support and recognition for initiatives that elevate local agriculture. The ATI representatives also shared their expertise in agricultural training and extension services.

This training is seen as a valuable addition to the farmers' knowledge base, benefiting not only the participants but also potentially extending to more farmers in Tayabas City. The acquired knowledge and skills are expected to have a positive impact on the local agricultural industry as a whole.

According to the City Agriculture Office, the training is part of a broader effort to modernize and strengthen the agricultural sector in Tayabas, with a focus on sustainable practices and market-driven approaches that can help local farmers increase their income and competitiveness in the industry. The city's commitment to agricultural development is expected to yield long-term benefits for the local farming community.
