The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Regional Welfare Office IV-A CALABARZON presented this recognition to the Municipal Government of Tiaong, Quezon, under Mayor Vincent Arjay M. Mea at the Tiaong Convention Center.
"This award from OWWA affirms our collective commitment in Tiaong to uplift our OFWs, who are truly the backbone of our nation," Mayor Mea stated. "We will continue to ensure they receive the support they deserve."
The certificate specifically cited Tiaong LGU's "active participation and invaluable assistance" during the 2025 National Migrant Workers' Day celebration, themed 'Migranteng Manggagawang Pinoy: Haligi ng Pamilya at Bansa.' OWWA Regional Director Rosario C. Burayag personally presented the award.
Mayor Mea further emphasized, "Our efforts extend beyond mere recognition; we are constantly working to provide tangible support, be it through information dissemination, reintegration programs, or addressing their immediate concerns. This partnership with OWWA is crucial in achieving our shared goals for our kababayans abroad and their families here at home."
National Migrant Workers' Day, observed annually on June 7th, highlights the crucial contributions and sacrifices of OFWs to Filipino families and the nation. This award underscores the municipality's dedication to this cause, aligning with the nationwide efforts by agencies like the DMW and OWWA to provide comprehensive support to migrant workers.
OWWA expressed gratitude for the local government's strong partnership in serving Filipino migrant workers. This collaboration is vital in ensuring that OFWs and their families receive the comprehensive services and recognition they rightfully deserve.
