LUCENA CITY, Quezon - Quezon Province’s public healthcare services just received a major boost from TeaM Energy, which, through its foundation, TeaM Energy Foundation Inc. (TEFI), has donated crucial newborn care equipment to the province’s hospitals, directly supporting a key priority of Governor Angelina "Helen" Tan. The donation, which included 2 Clinical Incubators, 4 Photography Lights, 2 Infant Warmers and Resuscitation Tables, and 2 Fetal Dopplers, is part of the company's broader corporate social responsibility initiatives.
A formal turnover ceremony was held at the Quezon Medical Center (QMC) in Lucena City, where Governor Tan officially received the vital medical items from Froilan Gregory H. Romualdez III, TeaM Energy's Assistant Vice President for External Affairs. The donated equipment is critical for enhancing neonatal care, especially for premature and at-risk infants who cannot regulate their own body temperature.
Clinical incubators and infant warmers are essential for creating a stable, controlled environment to prevent hypothermia, which can lead to serious health complications. Fetal dopplers, meanwhile, are crucial for monitoring a baby's heart rate during and after birth. The contribution is particularly impactful for the province, as QMC serves as a primary healthcare hub for many mothers seeking quality medical facilities.
Governor Tan expressed her deep gratitude for the timely support. "This donation will go a long way in improving our neonatal care capabilities," she stated, emphasizing how the new equipment aligns with the provincial government's vision. "It's a timely reinforcement of our ongoing efforts to modernize provincial health facilities and ensure every child has a healthy start."
Also present during the ceremony were key representatives from both TeaM Energy and the medical community, including Carlo Calvario and Ethel Osio from TeaM Energy, alongside QMC Hospital Chief Dr. Juan Eugenio Fidel Villanueva, Pediatric Department Head Dr. Augustina Cabangon, and other medical and administrative leaders.
