LUCENA CITY — The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Lucena and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Lucena City District Jail Female Dormitory shared gifts with women. As part of a joint outreach effort, support for young women under the center’s care remained the focus.
Members of the Lucena City Fire Station and officers from the BJMP Female Dormitory personally handed out gifts to residents at the Girl Crisis Center. Inter-agency cooperation to support women and girls was evident.
Ahead of the distribution, residents interacted with uniformed personnel through brief exchanges that offered reassurance and encouragement. The interaction fostered a sense of connection and mutual respect.
Senior Fire Officer 2 Criselda Abastillas stressed the importance of building an inclusive society rooted in justice, equality, and hope, especially for young women recovering from difficult experiences. She encouraged the residents to continue believing in their ability to heal and move forward.
Gift packs containing toiletries, stuffed toys, and snacks reached 14 young women. Officials of the Girl Crisis Center and the recipients expressed gratitude for the assistance and the continued show of concern from the two agencies.
BFP Lucena and the BJMP Female Dormitory said they will continue coordinating programs that promote the rights, protection, and well-being of women and children, in line with the 18-day campaign to end violence against women and children (VAWC).
