GENERAL NAKAR, Quezon — National ID services were recently conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority – Quezon Provincial Statistical Office, led by Normita D. Pagkatipunan, in Barangay Canaway for Katutubong Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries and senior citizens. On-site delivery improved access to government identification by reducing travel time, costs, and physical strain for residents with mobility challenges.

The Philippine Identification System establishes a single, government-issued proof of identity required for access to social protection programs, financial services, and official transactions. The system aims to reduce processing barriers and improve service delivery for indigenous peoples, senior citizens, and low-income households enrolled in government assistance programs.

PSA Quezon deployed a National ID Registration Team to Barangay Canaway to conduct registration within the community and accommodate residents unable to travel to registration centers. The on-site setup reduced travel distance, transportation costs, and waiting time, improving access for elderly residents and Katutubong Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries.

Services provided included National ID registration, same-day issuance of the ePhilID in paper form, and guided assistance in accessing the Digital National ID through the eGovPH application. PSA Quezon said the immediate issuance of the ePhilID allowed registrants to use valid proof of identity on the same day for government assistance and transactions requiring the National ID.

The initiative, released under Reference Number 2025-324, forms part of PSA Quezon’s continuing efforts to expand National ID coverage in remote and underserved areas of General Nakar. Similar community-based registrations are being implemented to extend National ID services to indigenous peoples, senior citizens, and residents with limited access to registration centers.
