REAL, Quezon — Powerful waves and a growing surfing culture continue to draw attention to the coastal town of Real as more surfers and visitors discover its waves along the Pacific coast. The municipality continues to strengthen its reputation as the Surfing Capital of CALABARZON because of its strong and consistent waves that attract surfers from different places.

A local surfing competition was held on March 7 and 8 at Paninap 1 in Barangay Tignoan where local surfers gathered to participate and showcase their abilities in the sport. The event provided an opportunity for aspiring and experienced surfers to show their balance, control, and wave-riding skills in front of spectators.

The competition was organized with support from the municipal government to further develop surfing as a sport while encouraging more young residents to participate. The event also aims to support tourism by introducing the scenic coastline of Real to visitors who enjoy surfing and beach activities.

Residents, visitors, and surfing enthusiasts gathered along the shoreline to watch competitors ride the waves throughout the two-day sporting event. Their strong support reflects growing community pride in Real’s reputation as one of the emerging surfing destinations in the region.

According to Mayor Julie Ann Macasaet, the local government continues to support programs that promote sports development and tourism opportunities for residents and visitors. The mayor said the municipality remains committed to organizing activities that highlight the town’s natural attractions and local talent.

“We are proud to showcase our world-class waves and the talent of our local surfers while strengthening Real’s identity as the surfing capital of the region, and we hope more visitors will discover the beauty and excitement that our coastline offers,” Macasaet said.

The municipality continues to be recognized as the Surfing Capital of CALABARZON because of its scenic coastline and powerful waves that create ideal conditions for surfing activities. These waves continue to attract surfers and tourists who travel to the town to experience its well-known surf spots.

“Our waves are one of Real’s greatest natural treasures and they continue to bring opportunities for tourism and sports development in our town. We will continue supporting programs and competitions that nurture the talents of our local surfers,” Macasaet added.

Residents and visitors witnessed the Realeños Local Surfing Competition during the weekend as surfers proudly displayed their skills and determination in the water. The event once again highlighted the passion and talent of local surfers who continue to strengthen the vibrant surfing culture of the municipality.
