LUCENA CITY, Quezon — With a bold show of support for women’s empowerment, the Quezon government on Monday officially opened “Tiangge ni Juana.” The launch marked the official start of National Women’s Month 2026 and highlighted women-led businesses and stronger support for equal opportunities across the province.
The opening ceremony was led by Governor Angelina "Helen" Tan, who described the initiative as a clear expression of the province’s strong commitment to uplifting women through sustained livelihood support and equal access to opportunities. She said the program reflects the government’s continuing effort to create practical and visible platforms where women can earn, grow their enterprises, and succeed on equal footing in their communities.
In her address during the opening program, Governor Tan urged residents and visitors to actively support women-led micro and small businesses across Quezon as a meaningful way of strengthening local families and communities. She stressed that steady and consistent community support can help these enterprises grow, expand their reach, and provide more stable and dignified lives for their families.
This call for economic support, she explained, is closely tied to the broader recognition of women’s evolving role in society and governance. Strengthening women’s businesses, she said, also strengthens their voice, leadership, and active participation in shaping the province’s future.
She also emphasized that women today play a growing and visible role beyond the home and are active partners in leadership and community development throughout the province. She added that their increasing presence in business, public service, and civic initiatives reflects their vital contribution to the province’s overall progress and long-term growth.
Expressing pride in the determination of Quezon’s women, Tan said their strength and perseverance continue to inspire the provincial government to strengthen and expand its support programs. She added that their resilience in facing daily challenges proves that women remain a driving force in building stronger families, stable communities, and a more progressive province.
Tan also noted that the program is now in its sixth year, demonstrating the province’s continued and consistent support for women’s livelihood initiatives across different municipalities. She added that keeping “Tiangge ni Juana” active each year helps women grow their businesses steadily, expand their customer base, and create more stable sources of income for their families.
The bazaar features a wide range of locally produced goods, including mushroom food products, buko pie, handmade bags, herbal items, candles, and personal care products from various towns across Quezon. “Tiangge ni Juana” will run until Friday, March 6, and residents are encouraged to visit, shop, and actively support women entrepreneurs throughout the weeklong celebration.
