LUCENA CITY, Quezon — The acting regional director of Police Regional Office CALABARZON, PBGEN Hansel M. Marantan, traveled to Quezon on April 9 to conduct a command visit at the Quezon Police Provincial Office. Efforts form part of a broader push to improve leadership, coordination, and police operations across units in the region.
Before arriving in Quezon, Marantan received arrival honors at the Southern Luzon Command to strengthen coordination between agencies and support shared regional security efforts. He was welcomed by LTGEN Cerilo C. Balaoro Jr., highlighting coordination between the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
The visit comes as police units in Quezon continue efforts to strengthen crime response, community engagement, and coordination with local government units. It also serves as a venue to review ongoing operations, address field challenges, and align priorities with regional directives.
At the provincial headquarters in Lucena City, Marantan met with police officials led by PCOL Romulo A. Albacea to align provincial operations with regional priorities and standards. He led the awarding of medals to personnel, recognizing contributions to public safety and police service.
In his remarks, Marantan stressed discipline, accountability, and commitment among personnel to maintain standards and ensure consistent service. He said effective policing depends on consistent execution alongside established systems.
“Discipline and accountability must guide every action in the field to ensure that our systems translate into real results for the communities we serve. Every police officer must uphold these standards to maintain public trust and deliver effective service.”
Marantan highlighted the importance of unity and professionalism within the police force to achieve long-term goals in public safety. He said sustained progress relies on teamwork, clear direction, and shared responsibility among all personnel.
“Unity and professionalism must remain at the core of our service as we work together to address evolving security challenges in our communities. Strong leadership and cooperation at all levels will ensure that we continue to deliver responsive and reliable policing.”
He later met with local chief executives in Quezon to strengthen coordination with local governments and support joint efforts to address peace and order concerns. He also engaged media representatives, recognizing their role in promoting transparency and strengthening public trust.
Officials said the visit forms part of continuing efforts under PRO CALABARZON to sustain responsive and capable police operations through ongoing review and leadership guidance. Quezon police officials signaled support for initiatives aimed at safer communities and stronger regional security coordination.
