INFANTA, Quezon — At least 80 pregnant women availed of free medical services during a two-day health caravan in Infanta, Quezon on April 14 and 15. Healthcare personnel carried out consultations and laboratory tests focused on preventing complications and promoting safe pregnancies.
As part of the caravan services, free consultations, laboratory tests, and nutritional support were provided for pregnant women. Health workers conducted 81 ultrasound procedures and 70 complete blood count tests, along with blood typing services.
During the activity, 69 participants underwent urinalysis, while 61 and 58 women received HIV and syphilis testing, respectively. The activity also identified 36 high-risk pregnancies requiring closer monitoring and immediate intervention.

In addition, nutrition counseling was provided to 80 participants, while 82 women received family planning guidance and oral health examinations. Health personnel also distributed obstetric supplements to 80 pregnant women to support maternal and fetal health.
Provincial Health Officer Dr. Kristin Mae-Jean Villaseñor emphasized the importance of early care, proper nutrition, and regular check-ups during pregnancy. She also highlighted the need to protect both mother and child during the critical first 1,000 days of life.
These efforts form part of the Primary Care Facility – First 1,000 Days of Life: Kalusugan at Nutrisyon ng Mag-Nanay (PCF-F1K) Caravan of the Quezon Provincial Health Office. The caravan focuses on strengthening maternal and child health services during the critical early stages of life.
