LUCENA CITY, Quezon - A mobile veterinary clinic will soon travel across Quezon province to bring animal healthcare services closer to pet owners and livestock raisers. Residents in remote towns often travel long distances just to reach veterinary clinics and laboratory facilities.

Governor Doktora Angelina Tan and Provincial Veterinarian Dr. Flomella Caguicla led the recent blessing of the new L300 and Isuzu NKR trucks for the “ProVet On The Go” program. The vehicles will be used during veterinary medical missions in municipalities across Quezon.

“ProVet On The Go” will use specially equipped trucks carrying laboratory equipment for basic animal testing and treatment. The setup will allow veterinarians to conduct on-site laboratory procedures while visiting towns and barangays.

Free veterinary medical missions have continued in different parts of Quezon in recent years. Those activities usually include anti-rabies vaccination, animal consultation, and surgical procedures for pets and stray animals.

Many of those missions are held in areas where veterinary clinics and animal laboratories are difficult to access. The mobile clinic is expected to help veterinarians deliver more services directly to communities without requiring residents to travel far.

The mobile clinic will also provide spay and castration services, free consultation, and basic diagnostic tests during field visits. Those services are expected to help pet owners receive earlier treatment and diagnosis for sick animals.

“So, pagpunta namin sa mga bayan-bayan, makakapagsagawa kami ng mga basic laboratory para sa mga hayop, Sa pamamagitan ng mobile veterinary clinic na ito, mas mapapaganda pa namin ang serbisyong idinudulot natin sa ating mga kababayan dito sa lalawigan ng Quezon.” Caguicla said.

Caguicla said residents in remote areas often spend time and money traveling to larger towns just to seek veterinary care. She said the mobile clinic would help bring consultations and laboratory services closer to local communities.

“Sa ginagawa naming veterinary medical mission, nagsasagawa kami ng spay and castration, rabies vaccination, at free consultation. Sa tulong ng mobile veterinary clinic, mas magiging mabilis at mas maayos ang pagdadala namin ng serbisyong beterinaryo sa iba’t ibang bayan sa Quezon.” Caguicla said.

The mobile clinic is expected to join upcoming veterinary medical missions in different towns across Quezon. Schedules of town visits will be announced by the provincial government in the coming weeks.
