SARIAYA, Quezon — Coconut farming remains a major source of livelihood in many parts of Sariaya, where families depend on the crop for income. Access to updated farming practices and market information has become increasingly important as growers work to improve yields and earnings.

The School-on-the-Air (SOA) on Coconut program forms part of efforts to strengthen the municipality's coconut sector through farmer education. It provides growers with technical knowledge and updated information through accessible radio-based lessons.

Representing Mayor Marivic T. Gayeta, Ea Vic Armamento attended the program themed “Masaganang Coco-Buhayan: Radyo Eskwela sa Pagniniyugan.” The activity highlighted the role of farmer education in improving coconut production and livelihoods.

Gayeta said support for coconut farmers remains a priority of the local government. She said access to knowledge and updated information can help improve livelihoods and strengthen agriculture.

The mayor said knowledge-sharing programs help farmers make informed decisions on production, marketing and farm management. She said continuous learning can help growers adapt to changing conditions in the agriculture sector.

The local government will continue supporting programs that bring agricultural education closer to farming communities. Such initiatives aim to equip coconut growers with skills and information that can improve farm productivity and income.
