The Provincial Council Committee on Transportation and Communications recently proposed legislation in a bid to decongest traffic and avoid accidents in the province.

The said legislative proposal titled “An Ordinance Regulating the Operation of Private Vehicles within the Territorial Jurisdiction of the Province of Cavite through the Unified Vehicular Reduction System” will prioritize resolutions pertaining to traffic regulations.

First District Board Member Gilbert Villanueva Gandia, chairman of the provincial council committee on Transportation and Communications and Vice Governor Ramon Jolo Revilla III are the author and co-author , respectively of the provincial benchmark ordinance which is fully supported by the provincial administration of Governor Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla.

The proposed measure’s main feature is the vehicle number coding which has been approved in principle by the provincial council members.

Another relevant feature of the legislation is the designation of motorcycle lanes which will be set on major roads in the province. (GG/R.F., PIA-Cavite)
