LUCENA CITY, Quezon (PIA)- The Provincial Government of Quezon through the Gender and Development Office is accepting nominations for the search for outstanding citizens of Quezon otherwise known as the Quezon Medalya ng Karangalan (QMK) 2017.
LUCENA CITY, Quezon (PIA)- The Provincial Government of Quezon through the Gender and Development Office is accepting nominations for the search for outstanding citizens of Quezon otherwise known as the Quezon Medalya ng Karangalan (QMK) 2017.
QMK is the highest award given by the Province of Quezon to its outstanding citizens for their exceptional and meritorious achievements which greatly contributed to the advancement of interest and welfare development of the province and its people by virtue of provincial board resolution No. 612 dated August 5, 1970. This time-honored event also strives to encourage the public to emulate the footsteps of the awardees and play an active role in building a better society.
There are two categories under the QMK awards program: first is the Gintong Medalya ng Karangalan, also known as the “Life Achievement Award, which is given to only one individual, not necessarily every year and; the Medalya ng Karangalan, also known as the “Special Achievement Award”, which is given to not more than 10 individuals.
The deadline for submission of nomination ends on June 15, 2017. Nominees who will be selected as outstanding Quezonians shall be awarded on August 19, 2017, the birth anniversary of the late commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon. Nomination forms are available at the QMK secretariat at the Quezon Provincial Gender and Development Office, or can be downloaded at www.quezon.gov.ph.
