LUCENA CITY, Quezon – Quezon provincial police chief Rhoderick Armamento urged the public to be vigilant and cooperative to the government authorities in maintaining the peace and order situation in the province as our country is facing terrorism act.

The Quezon PNP chief was the guest of honor and speaker at the 119th Philippine Independence Day celebration of SM City Lucena.

“Our war is not only on terrorism, our government is also facing war against drugs, everyone has a role in combatting this war, we should be vigilant and cooperative,’ speaking to the audience composed of students, police, military, government sector, media and employees, Armamento said further in his speech.

He reported the province has a total of 24,559 drug personalities who surrendered to the police forces, showing their office is relentless in their fight to eliminate the drug problem in the province. Armamento also stressed that in celebrating Independence Day, the youth should put into their hearts the sacrifices of fallen soldiers and policemen who fought to achieve our freedom.

All SM malls in the country held rites in support the 2017 Independence Day Celebration with the theme, “Kalayaan 2017: Pagbabagong Sama-samang Balikatin.” (Lito M. Giron, PIA-Quezon)
