LUCENA CITY - Another suspected drug pusher was added to the list of slain drug personalities of the city police station ten hours before new year during a bloody police operation on Monday afternoon at Purok Atin atin 2, Bgy. Marketview, here.
Quezon police director, Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman identified the slain suspect as Darwin Robles Lacerna @Joker, 40, and residentbof said village.
In his report to Calabarzon police director, Chief Supt. Edward Carranza, De Guzman said.
He said the killing took place while operatives of the city police station under Supt. Reydante Ariza were conducting a drug buy- bust operation whose target was Lacerna.
“During the operation, the operative who acted as a poseur buyer together with our confidential informant was able to buy suspected shabu contained in a heat sealed transparent plastic sachet with approximate weight of 0.18 gram using a marked P500 bill from Lacerna”, Ariza told newsmen.
But when the cop was about to collar Lacerna, Ariza saud the latter resisted and opened fire using a cal. 38 revolver.
He said the surprised cop and his back up security promptly retaliated killing the suspect on the spot.
Elements of Quezon Provincial Crime Laboratory Office who processed the crime scene recovered from the suspect another five small plastic sachets containing 1.15 grams of suspected shabu with estimated DBB value of P2,127 and the Smith & Wesson .38 caliber revolver he used.
Ariza said the marking of seized evidence and inventory were witnessed by barangay officials and a media representative.
