Quezon's pride Zagala is the new appointed Provincial Director of YAP
Youth Advocates for the Philippines (YAP) National President and founder is Emmanuel Mirus Ponon, Regional Director for CALABARZON is Kim Cedrick Cabrera and  Quezon Provincial Director is Brian Zagala. While Cavite Provincial Director is Lorraine Moreno, Laguna Provincial Directoris Ivan Jay Ortega, Batangas Provincial Director is Ivy Marie Silang, Rizal Provincial Director is Angelo Gianan Cruz.

LUCENA CITY – Brian Capistrano Zagala has been appointed as the Provincial Director of the Youth Advocates for the Philippines (YAP) for Quezon Province.

YAP is a youth-led, non-profit, and volunteer organization that paves the way for the youth to experience socio-civic involvement through a series of advocacy projects and initiatives. Attaining thousands of members in less than 3 months, the organization has been present in all regions of the Philippines and accredited by the National Youth Commission, the United Nations Major Group of Children and Youth, and UNMGCY-UNEP.





Quezon's pride Zagala is 21 years old, from Tayabas City, Quezon, a graduating student of Manuel S. Enverga University Foundation (MSEUF) taking up Bachelor of Arts in Communication and University Collegiate Student Council (UCSC)  President of the university. He is a News Correspondent of Sentinel Times, and an Active Member at The Honor Society of the Lambda Kappa Phi. He is also a volunteer at Project I Can.

"Ito naman po ngayon ang hamon sa atin, lalo’t lalo na po sa aking mga kapwa kabataan. Ang magsulong ng mga adbokasiya at maglingkod para sa bayan sa gitna ng COVID-19. May katotohanan po, napakahirap talaga. Pero at the end of day, masasabi ko naman po na napakaproductive ng mga kabataan natin ngayon, at saksi po si COVID-19 diyan hehe. So let us be part of the solution! Makilahok po tayo, makisangkot at makialam. I look forward to the success of every young advocates and leaders in this trying times. " Zabala said.

YAP National President and founder is Emmanuel Mirus Ponon, Regional Director for CALABARZON is Kim Cedrick Cabrera. While Cavite Provincial Director is Lorraine Moreno, Laguna Provincial Directoris Ivan Jay Ortega, Batangas Provincial Director is Ivy Marie Silang, Rizal Provincial Director- Angelo Gianan Cruz.

In less than three months, it has gathered thousands of members from all the regions in the country; 3000+ advocates, 10,000 beneficiaries, 100+ partners, and 150+ initiatives. It has also been accredited by the National Youth Commission, the United Nations Major Group of Children and Youth, and UNMGCY - UNEP.





The organization shall pursue the aspiration of volunteers inspiring others to uphold advocacies and work towards the integration of mobilization into a community. To achieve this goal, the volunteers shall continue to formulate action-based solutions through significant outreach projects that target existing issues currently needing to be addressed in society. These projects will engage the involvement of the youth to stand their ground in the passion for their major advocacies, and highlight the importance of their actions towards the betterment of our nation the mission of the organization.

While the vision of the organization shall envision the instillment of passion for service and a sense of initiative to future youth leaders through outreach programs and volunteer-based conferences catered to a line of diverse advocacies. Through these activities, the organization aims to inspire the youth to take greater action towards mobilizing the achievement of their advocacies, while continuing to see the necessity of working for action-based solutions.


PROJECT ARCHIPELAGO



ARCHIPELAGO is an abbreviation of 11 advocacies that are relevant to today’s society. These are advocacies pertinent and necessary for the improvement of the nation. It holistically and specifically targets opportunities and goals which every island in the Philippine archipelago must achieve.

PROJECTS RELATED TO COVID-19 Tabang na Karon: Tacloban is an outreach for the workers and the needy. Despite the coronavirus, the organization has reached out to tricycle drivers, pedicab riders, medical workers at the Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center, and many more. Through this outreach, the Youth Advocates for the Philippines acts in showing appreciation to the frontliners and medical workers in our country. Tabang na Karon: Rizal is an ongoing donation drive for the benefit of the residents of Talim Island in Binangonan, Rizal. Like all the other outreaches, the Youth Advocates for the Philippines Region IV-A wants to be able to provide sanitation kits, food packs, drinking water and medicines in order to reach out to the affected communities in Rizal Tabang na Karon: Capiz is an ongoing donation drive for the benefit of the residents of Barangay Fernandez, Maayon, Capiz. So far, Youth Advocates for the Philippines Region VI was able to distribute groceries to many Sikad drivers and their families. They are still accepting donations for their next set of distributions. #Advocaseries: Mental Health in Time of COVID-19 Together with Bughaw Digital Inc., The Youth Advocates for the Philippines launched Advocaseries: Conversations with Mirus and Monique with the discussion of “Mental Health in Time of COVID-19.” It was held via Facebook Live on April 18, 2020, with Mirus Ponon and Monique Baldon being the event’s hosts. The event also had five resource speakers: Dr. John Peabody, Dr. Rodelen Paccial, Joyce Vives, John M. Peabody, and Miles Diloy. All five resource speakers were able to provide their insights during the discussion, and they were also able to discuss topics that were very relevant today.
