BATANGAS CITY - Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, there were no traditional events marking the 51st Batangas City Day on  July, 23. Instead, the City Council also organized a dance competition for grandparents and their grandchildren inside their homes to get some quick fun in the middle of the crisis.

Named “Magkatuwang Tayo sa Awit at Sayaw”, the dance challenge showed live on Facebook, where the grandparents danced to the chorus of the jingle of Eto Batangueño Disiplinado Magkatuwang tayo. The criteria for judging are 50% entertaining moves, 30% cruel creativity, and 20% approval of the audience where likes are needed while it is posted on FB.





Naging champion sina lolo Rey Arguelles at apong si Jaster Sked Buenviaje ng Barangay 12, 2nd place sina lolo Pedro Umali at John Djanielle Blanco ng brgy. Balete at 3rd sina lolo Raymundo Belegal at Marc Gio Amparo ng Banaba Center.

The champion was Grandpa Rey Arguelles and Grandson Jaster Sked Buenviaje of Barangay 12 and Grandpa Pedro Umali and Grandson John Djanielle Blanco of Brgy. Balete took second place and the Grandpas Raymundo Belegal and Marc Gio Amparo of the Banaba Centre, third.





They received cash prizes and items from EBD Magkatuwang Tayo.  There are also four winners of the trivia questions and There are also four winners of the trivia questions and winners of the prizes and prizes.
