BATANGAS CITY- The Batangas city government has formed the Barangay Monitoring Team to further strengthen and intensify the implementation of the guidelines related to COVID-19 health protocols.

In this regard, all barangay disaster officers held a three-day “by cluster” orientation meeting from August 18 to 20 at the Batangas City Convention Center chaired by the Eto Batangueno Disciplined Monitoring Team (EBDMT).

According to Mayor Beverley Rose Dimacuha, this is the solution found to ensure the compliance of residents with all the ordinances and rules of the city related to COVID19 health protocols.

The BMT consists of the barangay chief as chairperson, a councilor as co-chairperson and barangay disaster officer who will serve as the leader of the operation along with the KALIPI president and leader of tanod.

The meeting discussed the main duties of BMT members including visiting residents who violate community quarantine guidelines, basic city government ordinances and executive orders such as not wearing a face mask when leaving the house, conducting mass gatherings, no physical distancing, drinking in public places or outdoors, violating curfews and other enforcement to prevent the spread of the virus.

Any violator will be reported by the BMT to the Sangguniang Barangay and the EBDMT and the name of the offender will be submitted for the corresponding fine and penalty. Those who are not immediately reprimanded can be reported through hotlines 723-2344 or 09778103021 or on the FB page Palakat Batangas City for the appropriate action of the concerned agency.

It is also encouraged to have evidence such as photo but it is forbidden to post on social media in accordance with the provisions of the Data Privacy Law.
