BATANGAS CITY - Ordinance No. 28 Series 2020 entitled “An Ordinance Waiving the Market Rental Fees of Stall Holders Engaged in the Business of Selling Non-essential Products" was approved by Sangguniang Panglungsod ng Batangas in the Public Market from September 1 to December 31.

The ordinance provides that, from September to December of this year, vendors in Markets 1, 2, and 3 will not pay rent, in particular those goods that are non-essential, such as in the party requires portion, souvenirs, toys, clothes, shoes, glassware, native items, etc.

Even stall owners who are senior citizens will not be fined because during the neighborhood quarantine time they are not allowed to open their shop, as it is forbidden in compliance with the Inter-Agency Task Force order.

The aim of the regulation is to decrease the concern and reduce the fees of stallholders affected by the pandemic.

It was written by Councilor Alyssa Cruz, Councilor Gerry Dela Roca, and Coun. Oliver Macatangay at the request of Mayor Beverley Rose Abaya Dimacuha.
