The local government of General Trias providing one-time financial assistance.
GENERAL TRIAS, Cavite - The local government of General Trias recently provided one-time financial assistance to 842 documented Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
The repatriated OFWs who are in the country between March 1 and April 30, 2021, are the beneficiaries.
They each received P10,000 to help with their needs and to start over once they returned to the city.
On July 23, the General Trias City Government also offered financial assistance to the town's repatriated Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
An estimated 430 documented OFWs were given P10,000 financial assistance.
Financial assistance to documented OFWs is a city government initiative led by Mayor Antonio ‘Ony' Ferrer to help mitigate the impact of their loss of livelihood due to the ongoing pandemic.
This is also in accordance with the approval of City Ordinance No. 20-46 by the City Government of General Trias, which mandates the provision of financial assistance to repatriated documented Gentriseo Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) who lost their jobs due to the CoVID-19 pandemic.
These applications are among the requirements that must be submitted by May 14, 2021, using the links shared on the city's Facebook page.
