KAWIT, Cavite — The local government of Kawit announced that the current status of the town’s isolation facility, and hospitals are at full bed capacity.

According to the latest data from the Rural Health Unit (RHU) as of 13 August 2021, the San Pedro Calungsod Medical Center, Binakayan Hospital and Medical Center, as well as the Kawit Isolation Facility have already reached maximum bed capacity due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases during the past week.

The LGU warned the public of the alarming rate of infection with 165 Active cases recorded on said date which is about 54% increase from the 107 Active cases in just a period of 7 days.

“Tama po na karamihan sa mga active cases natin ay mga APOR at lumuluwas sa NCR para magtrabaho pero marami pa rin sa atin ang basta’t lumalabas na lamang nang walang mask, at gumagala nang walang mahalagang pakay,” Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo said.

[It is true that most of our active cases are APORs who go out to NCR to work, but many are still going out without a mask, and wander around without an important purpose.]

Reiterating that the vaccine supply from the national government is not sufficient to vaccinate everyone, Aguinaldo once again reminded his constituents to strictly follow the IATF protocol, and refrain from going outside if there’s no urgent need or purpose to leave their houses.

He also appealed to the parents to be responsible for the safety of their children in the wake of increasing reports COViD-19 infection among children who are still not eligible for vaccination.

“Cooperation is the key to overcome this crisis we are currently facing,” said Aguinaldo. — Ruel Francisco, PIA Cavite
