LUCENA CITY - The Comelec city office is fully ready to extend the period for voter registration. In an interview with TV12 Balita, City Election Officer Atty. Ana Mei Barbacena clarified this.

She said that, with the assistance of its Mall Satellite Voter Registration at Pacific Mall Lucena, their office is equipped to host a possible influx of residents from Lucena City now that registration has been extended.



The City Election Officer said that extended voter registration will take place at the mall because it is more accessible to the public than their office.

Barbacena clarified that there will be no online registration or scheduling during the extension, and they will only accept walk-ins.



With the exception of special applications such as those from the vulnerable sector and frontliners, they can only process about three hundred applications in a single day.

The Commission on Elections recently announced that voter registration will be extended from October 11 to October 30 of this year, following the submission of the certificate of candidacy, or COC.



Barbacena, on the other hand, reminded the Lucenahin to register as soon as possible rather than waiting until the end of the extension.

He advised applicants to bring a valid ID, a photocopy, a ballpen, and any forms downloaded from their website to the registration site in order to expedite the application.
