SANTA ROSA CITY, Laguna — Santa Rosa's city government, led by the City Health Office and the Department of Education (DepEd) Santa Rosa, recently launched the vaccination in public schools.

The school vaccination is the city's increased vaccination of students in preparation for their return to school.

Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte ordered that public and private schools return to traditional "face-to-face classes" on November 2.

Although it is not mandatory or necessary to have the vaccine before participating in the "face-to-face" class, the city government and the DepEd have agreed to encourage students to vaccinate.

Parents who went on the first day of vaccination at school also agree that it is vital to vaccinate students. According to them, their children must be safe and protected against COVID-19, especially since they are returning to school.

There will be vaccinations at 11 schools. Among them are Santa Rosa Elementary School – Central 3, Labas Elementary School, Aplaya Elementary School, Sinalhan Elementary School, Southville IV National High School, Pulong Santa Cruz Elementary School, Balibago Elementary School, Dita Elementary School, Don Jose National High School, Santo Domingo Integrated High School, and Santa Rosa Science and Technology High School.

The selected vaccination sites have different days of the vaccination schedule, and kids move on to secondary education from elementary.

Vaccination is not exclusive to students either. Parents or relatives of the student, as well as DepEd employees who have not yet been vaccinated or given a "booster shot," are welcome to attend.

According to the City Health Office, they will give the first and second doses of the vaccine, as well as the booster shot.

The school vaccination operation starts from nine in the morning (9:00 AM) to two in the afternoon (2:00 PM). (with report from Santa Rosa City Information Office)
