BATANGAS CITY - Nasugbu-Bauan Expressway (NBEx) is one of Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas' high-impact infrastructure flagship projects (IFPs), and he is thankful to San Miguel Corporation (SMC) President and Chief Executive Officer Ramon Ang for this joint effort.

On Wednesday, March 22, 2023, a joint venture between the government and the private sector in the Province of Batangas signed a PHP 45 billion road network project with a length of 61 kilometers.

NBEx is SMC's first joint venture, in which 70% of the proceeds will go to the local government to help grow the economy and improve Batangueños' lives and livelihoods.

The NBEx is expected to help the economies of Batangas and other nearby provinces grow by making driving and commuting easier and faster.

The completion of the project will bring significant benefits to the area, according to Mandanas, who is confident that it will be finished soon.

Mandanas emphasized how important it is for the growth of towns in the First District of Batangas that the said roads are built. The governor also thanked the local government officials who helped make this project happen.

Meanwhile, Ang praised Mandanas for placing the benefits of the project to the people of Batangueños as a top priority.

The SMC anticipates that the tollway will be finished within 48 months, reducing the current 1.5-hour trip from Nasugbu to Bauan to 45 minutes.

In addition, Vice Governor Mark Leviste, SMC Senior Vice President Lorenzo G. Formoso III, Ist District Board Members Junjun Rosales and Armie Bausas, 2nd District Board Member Arlene Magboo, and 5th District Board Members Arthur Blanco and Claudette Ambida, Board Member Willy Maliksi, Provincial Administrator Wilfredo Racelis, Chief of Staff Ma. Isabel Bejasa, and a former Provincial Administrator were all present and participated in the event.
