TIAONG, Quezon – In a major collaborative effort, 4,400 Tiaong, Quezon residents received over PHP14.5 million in financial assistance on Thursday, May 9, 2024. The distribution at the Tiaong Convention Center was made possible through programs from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Tiaong Local Government, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Beneficiaries of DOLE's TUPAD program received PHP5,200 each. The program provides temporary employment for displaced or underemployed workers. The Tiaong Local Government Social Fund contributed PHP2,000 each to residents in need.

The DSWD's Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program, facilitated by Senator Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go's office, provided PHP2,500 each to help individuals and families facing unexpected challenges.

"This combined effort demonstrates the power of government agencies working together to uplift our communities," said Tiaong Mayor Vincent Arjay Mea. "This vital assistance will make a real difference for families in need. We are committed to exploring every avenue to support our most vulnerable residents."

"We understand the struggles faced by many, and we won't rest until every Tiaong resident has the opportunity to thrive. My administration is also dedicated to creating sustainable programs that empower our people," Mayor Mea added.
Senator Go, present at the event, underscored the importance of mutual aid. "Let's remember, we have one life; let's extend help to one another while we can. I will continue to serve you because I believe that service to people is service to God," he said.

"We must work together to uplift each other and build a stronger community. Let's strive for progress and unity in Tiaong," Senator Go emphasized. The event concluded with community members expressing their gratitude for the ongoing support and commitment from local leaders.

Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba, director of the Bureau of Workers with Special Conditions, emphasized DOLE's commitment to fair wages for those in need. She also highlighted the importance of creating more job opportunities and ensuring a safe working environment for all. The event ended on a positive note, with attendees feeling inspired and hopeful for a brighter future ahead.
