LUCENA CITY, Quezon – A new chapter in police wellness swung into action yesterday, July 9, 2025 as the Quezon Police Provincial Office (PPO) inaugurated its 1st Provincial Director's Badminton Cup. The event, held on July 9, 2025, at the PPO Covered Court within Camp BGen Guillermo Nakar, was spearheaded by PCOL Romulo A. Albacea, Acting Provincial Director, highlighting the PPO's dedication to the physical fitness and overall well-being of its personnel.

This badminton cup directly highlighting the PPO's dedication to the physical fitness and overall well-being of its personnel supports the directive from Chief PNP, PGEN Nicolas D. Torre III, which emphasizes promoting physical fitness among police personnel. The initiative aims to maintain the health, discipline, and operational readiness of the police force across the province.

During his opening remarks, PCOL Albacea underscored the crucial role of wellness and camaraderie in fostering effective policing. He stressed how sports activities like this not only significantly boost morale but also strengthen unity among officers, contributing to a more cohesive and efficient police organization.

"This Badminton Cup is more than just a game; it's an investment in our well-being and our unity," PCOL Albacea said. "When we are healthy and cohesive, we are better equipped to serve and protect our community."

Police officers from various stations and units across Quezon Province enthusiastically participated in the friendly matches. The event also saw the active involvement of the Values Coaches of Quezon PPO, who reinforced the Philippine National Police's (PNP) holistic development approach that integrates physical fitness with integrity and core values.

This inaugural badminton cup aligns perfectly with the PNP’s broader internal transformation efforts, ultimately promoting a healthier and stronger police force dedicated to serving the community. It stands as a testament to Quezon PPO's proactive approach in ensuring its officers are not only physically capable but also united and prepared to uphold their duties effectively.
