INFANTA, Quezon – The Municipal Government of Infanta has officially launched the "Tackling for Progress" Program, an initiative aimed at strengthening the foundational literacy of children and promoting a safe, nurturing, and protective environment for their holistic development. This new program, formally known as the "Tugon sa Tanglaw Para sa Pag-unlad," is a multi-sectoral approach designed to improve child development outcomes in the municipality.
It represents a collaborative effort between the local government, schools, communities, and other stakeholders, all working together to support children from infancy to early childhood. This partnership is crucial for creating a comprehensive support system that extends beyond the classroom, ensuring that children receive consistent support both at school and at home.
The program's core is built on several key components that address the holistic needs of children. A primary focus is on enhancing reading literacy, with various activities and workshops planned to improve children's basic reading skills, which are essential for academic success. These initiatives include storytelling sessions, phonics lessons, and the distribution of age-appropriate reading materials to families.
Equally important is the emphasis on family engagement, which seeks to empower parents and guardians to serve as their children's first teachers. The program provides them with the necessary tools and knowledge to support their child's development directly within the home, including resources on early childhood education and positive parenting techniques.
In addition "Tackling for Progress" integrates values, character formation, and spiritual development into its curriculum to instill a strong moral foundation in children from a young age. To ensure a comprehensive and sustainable support system, the initiative establishes strong partnerships between the local government, schools, and communities, creating a unified network for child welfare.
The implementation and oversight of the program fall under the responsibility of the Infant Council (SCI), which is tasked with the overall coordination, management, and monitoring of all program activities. The council is composed of a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from the Municipal Mayor's Office, the Department of Education, social welfare agencies, community organizations, and parent-teacher associations, ensuring a wide range of perspectives are considered.
To ensure accountability and measure the program's success, the SCI will submit regular quarterly reports to the Municipal Mayor, detailing the progress and outcomes of its various initiatives. This system allows for continuous evaluation and necessary adjustments to be made, ensuring the program remains effective and responsive to the needs of the community.
The official launch of the program was marked by the signing of the Executive Order by the Municipal Mayor Lord Arnel "LA" Ruanto, on August 4, 2023. This action formally put the "Tackling for Progress" Program into effect, underscoring Infanta's strong commitment to prioritizing the welfare and development of its youngest citizens.
