TAYABAS CITY, Quezon—For 39 students at Colegio de la Ciudad de Tayabas (CCT), the journey to becoming cultural leaders just got real. CCT launched its Art Apprenticeship Program on Monday, October 20, 2025, formalizing partnerships with local organizations that will give them the practical skills needed to save and promote the city's rich heritage.
In his speech, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rogel L. Limpiada said, "This apprenticeship is a vital bridge from the classroom to the real world, ensuring our students are professionally capable of contributing meaningfully to the preservation and promotion of our city’s rich cultural heritage.”
According to Limpiada, the required apprenticeship module spans one semester, training students directly as future art teachers, cultural managers, and heritage conservation advocates. He emphasized that the program represents a joint effort by CCT and several esteemed partners, reflecting the city’s vibrant creative landscape.
Local partners include Simply Design, Emmanuel Art Gallery, Atelir Delaroca, Em-Mr Local Arts and Crafts, the Tayabas Culture and the Arts Office, and the City Public Information Office. These institutions will host students in roles ranging from gallery curation to municipal heritage documentation.
“Our partnership with these respected local institutions, which include visual arts exhibition spaces and dedicated crafts houses, guarantees our BCAED students will be immersed in diverse, high-quality, authentic art and cultural work experiences right here in Tayabas.” Limpiada added.
The program marks a significant step for CCT, preparing effective art educators and cultural workers equipped with hands-on professional experience, with the local government fully supporting the initiative as a long-term investment in cultural preservation and local tourism.
