ATIMONAN, Quezon — Around 120 farmers from Atimonan joined the “Huntahan sa Kanayunan,” or rural dialogue, organized by the regional office of the Department of Agriculture covering CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) on November 6, 2025. Farmers had the chance to consult with government agriculture representatives and discuss their needs and concerns.
In partnership with the Local Government of Atimonan, the program was part of the Department’s ongoing community meetings across the region. It brought government programs and services closer to farmers by sharing useful information, best practices, and identifying the specific support communities need.
During the forum, farmers raised questions about government programs and support, including how to apply for aid, access farm inputs like seeds and fertilizers, receive training on modern farming techniques, and participate in local and regional agricultural projects. Topics also included assistance for organizing into groups to improve production and marketing.
The discussion also covered programs that encourage farmers to work in groups and accreditation for local farmer organizations. Grouping farmers together allows them to share resources, training, and marketing support, while accreditation lets these organizations work directly with the government on programs.
Officials encouraged farmers to register so they could access future government support, including financial aid, seeds and equipment, and training to boost farm productivity. After the forum, several farmers completed their registration to ensure they could benefit from upcoming programs and assistance.
