SARIAYA, Quezon - Mayor Marivic T. Gayeta led the inauguration and blessing of the new Sariaya Municipal Hall on November 24, 2025. She described the milestone as a major step toward faster, more efficient, and more transparent public service.

The new structure in Barangay Sampaloc 2 replaces the old municipal hall that served the town for 94 years. It brings together more than 20 local government offices and expands available space for public transactions.

Former Mayor Marcelo P. Gayeta started the project in October 2021, and the current administration continued and completed it. Gayeta said both administrations worked toward the same goal for Sariaya with steady cooperation and commitment.

Problems with the old building, including safety and space issues, pushed the local government to build a new one. These conditions prompted the plan to construct a new facility that could accommodate the needs of the residents.

The mayor also highlighted the historical weight of leaving the old government center behind and acknowledged its lasting importance. She stressed the need to honor its legacy as Sariaya moves forward with unity and respect.

“Ang aming dating municipal board ay nagsilbi nang 94 na taon bilang tahanan ng pamahalaang lokal. Ito ay naging lunsaran ng mga programa, proyekto, at serbisyong humubog sa ating bayan. Bahagi ito ng kasaysayan at kultura ng Sariaya.”

Gayeta said the new building helps the government meet today’s needs with better space and coordination. She explained that the facility aims to reorganize how residents access key public services.

“Sa bagong municipal building na ito, inaasahan nating mas mabilis na transaksyon, mas komportableng serbisyo, at mas bukas na pamahalaan para sa bawat mamamayan.”

The mayor said the new structure supports long-term public benefit through improved access and efficiency. She added that the layout prioritizes accessibility for different groups in the community, including seniors and students.

Earlier that morning, the Local Government of Sariaya conducted its first flag raising ceremony at the new municipal hall. The Municipal Gender and Development Office, led by Municipal Administrator Randy Tronila, organized the activity.

As Sariaya moves its operations to the new government center, Gayeta renewed her call for consistent and resident-focused governance. She emphasized that the building must function in a way that strengthens public access to services for years to come.
