Water woes hit Pagbilao hard, council demands action

PAGBILAO, Quezon - Households across Pagbilao are feeling the strain as water supply remains unreliable across several communities in the municipality. Daily routines and essential activities continue to be disrupted as families struggle to secure enough water for their needs.

Similar water supply problems are also being experienced in other towns in the province, where residents continue to report interruptions and limited access. The situation points to a broader concern affecting multiple communities.

The issue returned to the 12th Sangguniang Bayan of Pagbilao during its April 28 session as officials again took up concerns raised by residents. Council members urged PrimeWater Infrastructure Corporation to act during the meeting led by Vice Mayor Walter Dapla.

Residents brought their complaints to the council, where officials asked for updates on water service commitments and identified areas with irregular supply. During the privilege hour, Ariel Martinez called for repair and maintenance of water lines to address ongoing problems.

Council members introduced a resolution asking the water provider to allow the local water district to carry out repair work. The proposal has been referred to the committee on public works, utilities, and facilities for review.

As of posting time, PrimeWater Infrastructure Corporation has not issued a statement on the concerns raised during the session. The council has sought comment from the company regarding the issues discussed during the meeting.

Martinez said restoring reliable water delivery is especially important in areas that depend on irrigation for farming. He added that the situation continues to affect both household needs and agricultural work, putting pressure on local livelihoods.

“Tinalakay din po rito ang problemang patubig na inilahad ko, kung saan hiniling ang maagap na aksyon, repair, at maintenance ng mga linya ng tubig. Humingi rin po tayo ng update hinggil sa estado ng patubig na ipinangako noong kampanyahan pa ng ating lokal na pamahalaan.” he said.

He also noted that delays in repair work continue to affect residents who rely on steady water supply. He said repeated interruptions have led to more complaints from affected communities.

“Patuloy po nating nararanasan ang kakulangan sa maayos na suplay ng tubig kaya kinakailangan ang agarang pagkilos upang matugunan ang mga reklamo ng ating mga kababayan. Hindi lamang po ito usapin ng serbisyo kundi ng kapakanan ng bawat pamilyang apektado ng suliraning ito.” he added.

Residents in affected barangays continue to deal with limited supply as they wait for repairs to be carried out. The council said it expects a response from PrimeWater Infrastructure Corporation as discussions on the proposed measure move forward.
